We have been listed in "The World's Best Teardrop" list. I think I would like to be just the "best" not the most expensive but I guess we will take it.

The new Silver Cub

Here's a look at the new Silver Cub in development.
Design parameters are;
- Queen bed or as close as we can come
- Ultra lightweight under 1000lb for a 5 x 10 ft camper (we should come in at 750lb)
- all LED lighting for low draw on battery and environment
- 110v hook-up
- Large feeling cabin in light colors
- Maximum storage
- place for cooler inside
- Battery on tongue
- low cost to build and sell

So far the camper has a steel C channel frame that has proven very stiff and reliable. Cabin is welded aluminum 1" tube for lightness and rigidity, and interior walls are pvc which are light, durable, and reflective.
We have added aluminum to the interior storage area for durability as this is where a cooler and other heavy items would be stowed.
Its taking shape and looking good!

Wild Animal

Stalking wild animal watch out! Anyone who has stopped by the shop has been properly barked at and intimidated by Sabacha (russian for dog). She's completely harmless but is very near sighted so even I get it occasionally.

She does her job everyday by being the stress reliever for everyone that can kick a squeaky toy and she's been at it for 9 years now.

                      The Bus

The bus is on tour through the states and you can follow them on the link below. Great pictures and features on the bus and wonderful people to work with. Great glasses too!

We worked with a great creative group in New York called Partners & Spade on this project. You can check them at http://partnersandspade.com/

This is how it went:

Start with an ugly school bus

                                                           and put this in it?

                                                           RIGHT!?

                                                            We can do that

This is the support vehicle....very subtle

Here's a link to more great pictures on tour and "Phineas the famous" bus driver. You have to check this out!

Neiman-Marcus Bulleitt Bourbon Tailgater

Bulleitt Bourbon Ultimate Tailgater for Neiman-Marcus

Well its already cold and it feels like winter already and I haven't even shared the projects we did this summer.  So pour a shot of Bulleitt Bourbon and take a look.

These were taken in Texas by Neiman-Marcus

This picture makes me want to drink Bulleit Bourbon.

To start off we built an "over the top" tailgater for Bulleit Bourbon and its being marketed in the "Fantasy Gift" section at Nieman -Marcus. It feels like we did something right having all this attention. Here's the video the folks from New York produced on us and Brad Ford who helped with the colors, leather and had the great idea of putting the bourbon barrel material in the ceiling as a feature.

And here the Woodie is on the Today Show for the second time. Is he sitting on my fender!?

Its a kennel....its a picnic tailgater....its a English style shooting brake designed for a plantation near Charleston SC for quail hunting.
Dogs in the fan cooled cabin area that's clad in aluminum and rinse able with a drain, aluminum screened door, water container on the tongue for the dogs to drink and cool down after the hunt, shotgun mounts over the fenders, and all the accoutrements to prep and cook quail over open fire after the hunt.

Painted Herbal Cabinet

I want to show off a friend of mine's artistic abilities. Chrissy Stanley is an outstanding artist and she has helped me create numerous projects that otherwise wouldn't have been nearly as beautiful had I not included her in the project.
Photos are of a re-purposed cabinet that was about to end up in a basement full of paint cans.
Snails may not be everyone's taste but personally it couldn't have come off better ....and truthfully how many snails have you seen slime gold leaf?

Charleston Forge designs

Here's another design I did for the folks at Charleston Forge.
Along with this introduction I help them reinvent the feel and texture of their wood tops by hand scraping and hand rubbing their finishes.
To me, it really brought together the feel of the iron and the wood into a total package.
Retreat Cocktail Table from Charleston Forge!
Hand wrought iron and a hand planed oak top with a hand applied and rubbed antique finish. Very nice!.
This is a very weighty piece that can hold its own in a big room. Retreat Cocktail Table

A Very Proud Moment

This has to be one of the most proudest moments of my design career. When Orvis put the Woodie Camper on the front cover, then nice spread on the inside and a very well done video we couldn't believe it!

I have to thank Brett Ference at Orvis for believing us and for his modeling abilities which I bowed out of. The video is much more palatable with out me in it.

Moore & Giles Airstream Showroom

Here's a peak at a project Airstream we did for Moore & Giles leather company. We completely gutted and modified the interior and exterior for traveling showroom space for their incredibly beautiful bags for men and women. I practically live out of one. Check them out at http://www.mooreandgiles.com/

Its great thing to see something like this recycled and re-purposed then completely embraced by the design world. When it travels to shows like the Architectural Digest show in NY (last week)it is the most popular show booth inside pier 94. Its so strange to see a gleaming 31ft Airstream inside one of the world's most fashion forward places on earth.

Party at Kathy Ireland's House

The Great American Woodie gets around a lot more than I do. By the way, this is the supermodel Kathy Ireland.............just wish I could have been there when she was admiring my Woodie.......I mean craftsmanship.....design......you know what I mean.
